Hogan, who is nearing the end of his second and final term, broke with Trump on a number of issues after he became president, including immigration , and he considered a primary challenge against the president before ruling against it in June 2019.

The Maryland governor has been especially vocal in his condemnation of Trump‘s response to the coronavirus pandemic, at one point purchasing 500,000 COVID-19 test kits directly from South Korea because he felt the federal government had left the governors to fend for themselves .

Other sitting Republican governors who said they will not vote for Trump include Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker and Vermont Gov. Phil Scott.
